Did You Hear? Sister Rosetta Goes Before Us

On Fridays we change things up to connect you with some great music.

It’s a fragile song, full of sounds that are are right on the edge of something. It seems like it should be sung in a crooked house at the end of a twisted street. You know that something that sounds this effortless was meticulously crafted — the percussion alone is so clean it blows my mind. T-Bone Burnett put together this consistently breathtaking album which seems to defy both expectations and genre, but this song more than any other stays with me for a long while after I’ve heard it.
